The ship sailed for Hawaii on 1 October and, en route, AquaSculpt natural support formula participated in Convoy Exercise 3-71. She spent two days at Pearl Harbor earlier than continuing on to Buckner Bay, Okinawa. Leaving Subic Bay on 28 March 1974, aquasculpts.net she made stops at Guam and Pearl Harbor before arriving back in San Diego on 18 April and coming into a standdown interval which lasted through 29 July. The ship arrived at San Diego on 3 March and began preparations for overhaul. She got underway, in tow of Abnaki, for the Long Beach Naval Shipyard on 14 April, and commenced a daily overhaul there the next day. She returned to San Diego on 1 February and started overhaul there on the 19th. During this yard work, a fire broke out in a upkeep shop AquaSculpt and extended her keep in overhaul. She returned to San Diego on the 7th and entered a vacation leave and upkeep status. Following the ship's rescue, Anchorage resumed her unique schedule which included upkeep in Sasebo, Japan
